Helen Layton is an independent Nurse Consultant, Clinical Lead, and Global Health Advisor with over 25 years’ experience across maternal, neonatal, and child health in diverse clinical, humanitarian, and advisory settings. Trained to Master’s level with specialist qualifications in Paediatric Nursing, Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (SCPHN), Neonatal Intensive Care (QIS), and Tropical Nursing, Helen combines deep clinical expertise with strategic leadership.
An Honorary Fellow of the Faculty of Remote, Rural & Humanitarian Healthcare (FRRHH), she has contributed to international neonatal care standards and regularly advises executive teams of multinational organisations on global health risks. Her portfolio spans the UK, Spain, Malawi, Uganda, India, Romania, and Mali, where she has led complex case coordination, regulatory compliance, and healthcare workforce development.
Helen currently leads a Children’s Complex Care service in the UK while providing consultancy to organisations seeking evidence-based strategies, skilled workforce training, and outcomes-focused solutions in both regulated healthcare and global health contexts.
